Having an in-home Newborn Photo Session during Covid-19

I feel as though we have all been on a tilt o’ world ride throughout most of 2020. With Covid, the pandemic, and all the the health concerns surrounding it, this year has been a bit crazy.

Even with the pandemic happening, I’ve still been fairly busy since re-opening in May with in-home newborn photo sessions. It might seem crazy, but the world didn’t stop having babies.

I wanted to take the time to explain why a in-home newborn lifestyle photo session can be a good fit for you family during Covid-19.

  1. It’s in your home
I come to you and photograph your newborn/baby in your own home. You don’t need to travel anywhere. Therefore, your baby isn’t exposed to unnecessary traveling.

  2. I always wear a mask
I take your safety and my own very seriously during this time. I shut down my business during the Stay at Home order to keep my family safe. I only re-opened when I was legally allowed to, and I have worn a mask out in public since the start of the pandemic. I will be wearing a mask to keep everyone in your household safe.

  3. Social distancing is maintained
Unlike a small studio, I can usually keep a safe distance from my clients in their homes. There will be times I will get closer in order to get up close photos. But as stated above, I wear a mask and those times are always brief.

  4. I do not pose your baby
Since I photograph lifestyle newborn photos and not posed newborn photos, there is no need for me to pose your baby. In fact, I will not touch your baby at all. I’ll give direction to the parents on where to place their baby and how to wrap them or which way to face them. This way I have no direct contact with you or your newborn.

  5. I bring all my own equipment
It doesn’t matter if it’s very bright or dark and rainy outside. I bring all of my own lighting equipment your photo shoot. This way all of your photos will look beautiful no matter what the weather is outside.
