5 Poses for Lifestyle Newborn Photography

Lifestyle Newborn photo sessions are probably some of my favorite to photograph!

All newborns are ridiculously cute and sweet! Plus, they’re small and tiny, and I just wish I could cuddle all of them! (But I don’t because, ya know, Covid and the pandemic)

The relaxed feel of a lifestyle newborn photography session is one of the many reasons I only photograph lifestyle newborns and not posed newborns. There’s not wrapping, getting newborns into awkward positions, and it’s not a big deal if the baby isn’t sleeping during their photos. New parents have enough to worry about without the added stress of posed photos.

Here are 5 poses I love to use during Lifestyle Newborn photo sessions.

  1. Family Photo with Mom and Dad looking at newborn.

2. Newborn Peeking through the crib slats.

3. Overhead photo of a newborn in their crib.

4. With a sibling (human or furry!)

5. Snuggled up in Mom and Dad’s arms

There are so many poses when it comes to newborn photo sessions, but these are ones I always like to include. They are simple, clean, and timeless. They are also the most popular among my clients when they go through the photos in their galleries.
