2019 has arrived!

With the new year, treat yourself to a new headshot!

As professionals, we represent our business’s visual brand. Since we want our brand to represent us, the best way to convey your professionalism is an updated professional headshot.

Whether you want a relaxed, fun headshot or you need a traditional headshot taken, make sure your headshot represents you as a person. No awkward smiles. No weird, diagonal tilts and angles. Just a dynamic, professional headshot which conveys who you and your business are.

Why should you pay for a professional headshot and not just snap a quick photo on your phone? It conveys professionalism to your website, potential clients, investors, and marketing materials.

  1. A good headshot gives your clients and investors an idea of your personality before they meet you. A serious look portrays determination. Whereas, a smile portrays approachability. A good photographer will help bring out your personality in your headshot.

  2. It reminds business contacts who you are if they have met you in the past. Having a face to go with a name gives potential clients and business associates a level of comfort than just seeing a name.

  3. A current headshot gives people a sense to see what you look like now. For example, a lot of my new clients don't have a chance to meet me in person before their first photography session. My headshot allows them to know what I look like when I meet them at a location.

  4. It supports and enhances your social media profiles, such as LinkedIn, Google Business, Facebook, and Instagram. This allows you to stand out from others who do not have a good professional headshot in their profiles.

  5. It feels good to look good in your photo! Confidence comes in many forms. Having a good, quality Headshot where you know you look good, builds confidence which can be seen by potential clients and investors.

Teen and his Labrador Photo Session | Pflugerville, TX

Photographing this handsome teenager and his beautiful yellow Labrador was a lot of fun.  These were a surprise Christmas gift for some family members, so we had to keep the whole thing under wraps until after Christmas.  The Lab, whose name is Baxter, was definitely an active boy during the photo shoot.  It took a bit of bribing and some commands of 'sit and stay' from Mom and I to get him to cooperate.  I'm pretty sure the doggie treats helped out a lot!  But he was a really good boy (and so was his teenage buddy!).  Check out these two handsome young fellows!

Family Photo Shoot | Round Rock, TX

Family generation photo sessions are something I love to photograph.  When I get can three or more generations in one photo, it makes the session special for me.

Wondering why it means so much to me?

Mainly because I love the photos I have of myself, my mom, and my grandma.  There aren't a lot of them, so cherish the ones I do have.  Even if it's just snap shot (like the one from my bridal luncheon many moons ago), I love it.  My grandma is getting older; she turned 93 this year.  And as much I want her to stay around for awhile longer, there's no promise she will.  So I make every effort to hold onto those precious memories I have of her.

I photographed three generations in this photo session, and I know this family will cherish them for some time to come.  Plus, I was able to photograph a Labradoodle who was huge but the sweetest dog!

Nothing quite like holding up/throwing a wet tennis ball to get a dog's attention with a camera in the other!  It was definitely not a first and I'm sure won't be the last!  Enjoy this family photo session!

Mom and Me photo session in Austin

I love photographing Mom and Me sessions!

Why do I love it so much?

Simple.

Because children want to see photos of themselves with their moms (and dads!) when they grow up!

Think about it.  When you look at your childhood photos, do you look remember when and where the photo was taken?  Do you remember the argument before hand or the goofy joke someone told to get everyone to laugh and smile?  Do you remember why you picked that outfit and how 'in fashion' it was at the time?  You were stylin' weren't you?!

Grown adults don't look at their childhood photographs and criticize they way their parents looked.  They look at that photo and remember all the good memories that go with it.

Parents today (especially moms) will find every excuse in the world to not be in a photograph with their kids.  Here are some of the excuses I've heard:

  • My hair's not done.
  • I don't have any makeup on.
  • I'm not wearing the right clothes.
  • I just want it to be about the kids.

And the most common I hear...

  • I don't look good enough (aka I'm too fat and I need to lose weight)

Well, I'm here to tell you if you keep putting off taking family photographs with your kids, one day your kids will end up with a zillion childhood memories of themselves and nothing to look back on to remember you, their parent.

That is why I love Mom and Me sessions!

A mom or dad who is willing to step outside of their comfort zone in order to capture beautiful memories of them with their kids is a parent to applaud!

I recently photographed a Mom and Me session over by Mansfield Damn and Steiner Ranch in Austin.  I loved photographing this Mom and Daughter!!  We laughed and just a really good time which turned out some amazing photos!

Enjoy this Mom and Me photos taken in Austin!
